FAQ
"What time of the year do you accept volunteers?"
We welcome volunteers during the months of February, March, June - September, and December. This is the best time to visit for several reasons:
1. Improved Accessibility: These months generally experience dry weather, making the roads more accessible for travel to remote areas where our operations are based. This ensures volunteers can easily reach the locations where they are most needed.
2. Optimal Timing for Rabies Vaccination: March, June, September, and December are ideal for rabies vaccination campaigns. During these months, many students are on holiday, making it easier for families to bring their dogs to clinics. Notably, 80% of the dogs brought for vaccination are accompanied by children, as dogs tend to be more comfortable around them.
3. Important Global Animal Welfare Days: We encourage volunteers to participate in February and September due to significant global events. February 28th is recognized as World Spay Day, September 28th is World Rabies Day, and October 4th is World Animal Day. These international observances help raise awareness and provide important opportunities for increased participation and community outreach.
